The Homewood Historical Society is a repository of Homewood’s heritage for generations to come. Our library holds an ever-growing collection of books, newspaper clippings, telephone directories, obituaries, and real estate and church records. We also maintain files on Homewood schools, businesses, and governmental operations.

We are always interested in adding to our collections. Donations of materials, including pictures, postcards, maps, business memorabilia, and other Homewood-related items may be made by e-mailing us at homewoodhistorical.illinois@gmail.com or by phoning the Society’s main number (708-799-1896). A Deed of Gift will be prepared for your signature to document your permanent contribution to HHS. Monetary donations, which are tax-deductible, may be made payable to Homewood Historical Society and sent to P.O. Box 1144, Homewood, IL 60430. HHS reserves the right to decline a donation or to deaccession an existing donation based upon size/storage restrictions, relevance to Homewood’s history, or recommendation of the Board of Directors.

HHS has also been the grateful recipient of numerous planned giving bequests. Please consult legal counsel or your tax adviser for specifics on how to provide for HHS’s future in your estate planning.
